Central Florida

The Flag brings three entirely different courses to one of the most unique landscapes in Central Florida. Launching January 2022, Nicklaus design and the Founders of The Flag have brought their visions to life with renderings of the Links, Parkland, and Savannah courses below.

It could be said that links golf is among the oldest and most enjoyable of golf experiences found anywhere in the world. Although the site at Lost Oaks does not border a windswept sea-as you might find in Scotland or Ireland-the feel, the flow, and the playing experience will have every bit the flavor of the most enjoyable classic links courses of the UK. The design will be heavily influenced by the likes of the Old Course at St. Andrews, Lahinch, Royal Lytham & St. Annes, as well as Formby.

With gently rolling movement throughout, rough and mounding covered in tall native grasses, rugged bunkers, and greens that allow golfers to bounce the ball into pins, players will enjoy a touch of Coastal Scotland in Central Florida.

When golf evolved over centuries and moved inland, courses built away from coastal areas tended to be much more pastoral in setting and design: greener, lusher, plentiful in trees. They were “park-like,” or as we know them today “parkland courses.” The Parkland Course at Lost Oaks will bring the essence of Middle America to Central Florida. Some of the most revered and classic courses in the U.S., as well as most played on the PGA TOUR, are parkland golf experiences.

This layout will be a true parkland experience, with beautiful Spanish Moss covered Oak trees framing a classic, American-influenced design.

The Savannah Course will be a marriage of the other golf experiences at Lost Oaks, but with characteristics unlike any golf course you might find in Central or South Florida. The Savannah Course will be designed and built in the more open spaces of the Lost Oaks development, and will be highlighted by movement and elevation change that will produce truly original and uniquely special golf holes, strategy and shot values.
